Building Bridges
LEGO® sculpture

1 of 1, Building Bridges is a large-scale LEGO® sculpture depicting a mother embracing her son, rendered through thousands of interlocking bricks. The work explores themes of protection, connection and emotional resilience, using the language of construction to express human closeness.

The embrace sits at the centre of the sculpture’s meaning. Built from rigid, modular elements, the figures soften through form and posture, suggesting that strength and vulnerability are not opposites but companions. The brick structure becomes symbolic, each piece representing moments, memories and shared experiences that bind generations together.

At over two metres tall, the sculpture invites viewers to stand beneath it, reinforcing the sense of shelter and scale inherent in the maternal gesture. Building Bridges positions love as something built gradually, intentionally and collectively.

Each sculpture is hand-designed and built to order by former LEGO® Master Model Builder Brad Charlton Wells, ensuring structural integrity, emotional clarity and craftsmanship at scale.
